Who runs Korea KnowHow
Korea KnowHow is independently operated by Sanghyeon, its founder and Korea-based editor. As of September 2026, Sanghyeon has lived in Korea for 39 years and lives in Bundang, Seongnam. A lifetime spent in the Seoul metropolitan area has provided direct experience of everyday culture, places and activities across Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province.
The site exists to explain the practical decisions that an official page or attraction list may leave unanswered: how a route, payment method, booking rule or local custom is likely to affect an international visitor.
How information is checked
Sanghyeon starts with the traveler’s decision, verifies changing details against the operator or relevant public authority, and records an editorial review date. Korean- and English-language information is compared when wording or access differs. Traveler reports may identify a problem to investigate, but they are not treated as proof on their own.
How experience is labelled
Firsthand experience is separated from researched information. A personal check means Sanghyeon directly experienced or observed it. A local observation describes a pattern seen while living in Korea. Source-checked information is based on the linked operator or authority and is not presented as firsthand experience. A traveler report is identified as such and checked before it supports a conclusion.
Field notes are the most specific form of firsthand reporting on this site. Each note records a visit date, who paid, what was directly observed, original photography and which details can change after publication.
What a review date means
It means the page was reviewed against the sources shown on that date. It is not a promise that a timetable, fare or rule cannot change afterward. Time-sensitive purchases should always be re-checked with the linked operator.
Editorial and commercial independence
Advertising, affiliate links, complimentary access and sponsored work do not buy a favorable conclusion or remove a fair disadvantage from a comparison. Commercial relationships are labelled near the relevant content. Korea KnowHow is independent and is not an official Korean government or tourism service. Read the full editorial and affiliate policy.
Corrections and contact
If something is wrong, use the private contact form and include the page, the specific sentence and a supporting source when available. Corrections and privacy requests are prioritized over general suggestions.
Messages are reviewed manually in Korea, usually between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM Korea Standard Time (UTC+9), but the inbox is not monitored continuously. Sanghyeon aims to review and respond within three business days. Complex travel or business inquiries may take longer.
Not a 24-hour help service
Korea KnowHow cannot provide emergency dispatch or individual legal, medical, immigration, tax or financial decisions. When waiting could cause harm or disrupt imminent travel, contact the appropriate police, ambulance, embassy, medical, immigration or service-provider channel directly.
