Data we receive
Question text, optional display name, optional notification email, private contact details, abuse-prevention signals and normal server logs may be processed. Email addresses are encrypted at rest and are never displayed with public questions.
Why we process it
We use data to review and answer questions, respond privately, prevent spam, secure administration and understand aggregate site performance.
Public questions
Questions remain private until reviewed. Editors may remove identifying details and lightly edit wording before publication. The management key saved in the submitting browser can edit or delete a pending question; published-removal requests use private contact.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate visits and page performance. Our own Worker records a small set of aggregate interaction events in Cloudflare Analytics Engine: first use of a travel tool, clicks from a tool to its guide, clicks to an official external source and future clearly labeled affiliate links. Event properties are limited to page type, public guide or tool slug and destination hostname. We do not send form values, search text, email addresses, question text, full external URLs or URL query parameters as analytics event properties, and this event system does not set its own cookie or local-storage identifier.
Vendors and retention
Cloudflare provides hosting, security, database infrastructure, Web Analytics and aggregate event storage. Interaction events are retained by Analytics Engine for three months. Advertising, affiliate and email vendors will be named here before activation.
